Selecting your Christmas Tree

When selecting the perfect Christmas tree there a number of things to consider.

Am I getting my tree from Feezers Farm?

If you answered 'yes' to this question, you're on the right track.

Where will you put the tree?

When you're looking for your tree, you will want to know what room you will put it in. Consider what doorways you will need to get the tree through, as well as what furniture may need to be moved to set up the tree. Be sure not to put the tree in the direct path of a heating vent as this will dry the tree out. If you must place the tree near a vent, be sure that you check the tree's water level every day. Never place your tree near radiators, candles, fireplaces, stoves, or any source of heat that may cause a fire.

How tall is your ceiling?

You should plan to find a tree that is about 6-12 inches shorter than the height of your ceiling, so that you can prevent scratching the ceiling and place a star or other decoration on the treetop.

Will the kids help decorate the tree?

It's important to consider how prickly the tree's needles are. Pines and firs have softer needles, whereas spruces have stiff, prickly needles. However, Pines have longer, softer needles and are not recommened if you will be using heavy ornaments. Never use real candles when decorating your tree! Use only indoor or indoor/outdoor lights on your tree. Using lights intended only for outdoor use may cause them to get too hot.

If you buy a large tree, who will help you set it up?

Do you have nails and wire for extra support if you need it? Remember: trees always look smaller when you are outside at our farm. They always seem to be bigger when you get them home!
