Setting Up Your Tree

First: Make sure you find the perfect spot for your tree, considering the tree's height and width and any nearby objects. You may also want to put a sheet of plastic under the tree stand and skirt in case your stand leaks, so that your carpet or hardwood will not be damaged. Then follow these instructions:

  1. Do not remove the netting until the tree is standing up in your house - be sure the tree will fit in your house - measure your ceiling height, make sure the tree is at least 4-6 inches shorth of your ceiling's height.
  2. Before moving the tree into your house, it is highly recommended that you cut off about 1 inch of the tree's butt, so that it will absorb water and last longer (and increase scent output). This step is critical for preventing your tree from drying out too soon.
  3. Place the butt (the stump) of the tree into your stand and stand it upright.
  4. Hold the tree in the upright position while another person tightens the screws or adjusts the stand so that it tightly holds the tree.
  5. After tightening the stand, if the tree is balanced and stable, then you're done! If it's notstable, then you should attach the tree to the nearest door or window frame with wires and screws to make sure it won't fall. If you decide to use wires, use two of them pulling in opposite directions to keep the tree stable.
